About
Amaru curandero
When it comes to the BODY, the stressors and responsibilities of city life tend to leave men last in the punch-clock-line of self-care. The physical effects of this "selfless" attribute, however, have a ripple effect at the SOUL level. Feelings of inadequacy or lacking the strength to move on are symptomatic of some of the emotional responses experienced when the body and the soul are not in synch. At the core, these feelings of dissatisfaction--of not living wholeheartedly-- happen when desire is not being properly channeled. This is where I come in.
The BODY & SOUL healing practice I have been developing and improving since 2010 is a syncretic approach that uses open and safe communication, sound therapy, basic kundalini yoga and breath-work exercises, shamanic journeying and energy re-balancing, muscular tension release and playful leather stimulation, all aimed at transforming desire into a rejuvenating and relaxing experience, whose after-effects can last for days.
For those who feel that taking care of the body is not enough, my alternative service focuses on your space. After all, the way we present ourselves to the world is mirrored in the place we live or work: our HOME & OFFICE. With this offering, my goal is to help you clear up--energetically--your living or creative environment and work with you to organize, rearrange, declutter and brighten up particular areas of your home or your home office. How to make your living or working environment more conducive to relaxation or creation, is what this offering entails.
Experience
My background
Born in Cusco, Peru to a family with no direct link to an indigenous lineage, it was quite a surprise to find my shamanistic path open up years after I had moved to New York City. Following my initiation in 2013, I gradually started to accept that I am a curandero, a shaman if you prefer, reclaiming a lost connection to my land while my practice keeps me home, in the city, at the service of those men who benefit the most from it. Mis artes curativas, the healing arts I offer, are not for everyone and yet they are accessible to anyone. All it takes is a sense of trust and respect for oneself. Communication is vital, so if you are interested or curious in my craft, rest assured that what we share is and shall remain confidencial. I am available for email exchanges, phone conversations or quick text messages to make sure working together is as hassle-free as possible.
