While things are yet far from “normal,” life goes on. My practice too, is off to new beginnings.

What can you expect?
First of all, good health. I’ve been fortunate to have remained healthy and in good spirits in this crazy time, largely thanks to the support of those near me. But I must also acknowledge my own efforts. While I did take the time in lockdown to rest and engage with clients virtually, I continued to engage in physical activity for the sake of my overall wellbeing. From eating healthy and working out at home to jogging by the Hudson or at Central Park, I didn’t let my body go. In that regard, the summer season was a real blessing, as it allowed me to head over to the Long Island sea shore (more often than ever) and remain connected with nature and my creative endeavors. Thanks to that, I was able to finish the series of shorts—inspired by Walt Whitman’s poetry—I had started in the summer of 2018. At 80 mins. and 9 short films in total, Bloomers is now complete.

As we move onto the rest of the Fall and Winter, rest assured I’m not letting my guard down, but like you, I am monitoring the risks I take. And so that we both feel safe when we get together, here’s the protocols I’m keeping in place:
Dialogue: If you’re new to my practice, you and I will need to get on the phone prior to our session. If we know each other already but have not seen each other at all these past seven months, I will kindly ask that you share with me how you’re feeling overall, a body-mind scan so to speak.
Scheduling: KEY. Now more than ever I am going to ask you to please plan ahead. While I may be available at short notice (same day appointments: go ahead and try me if you must) my life commitments demand a careful planning of my schedule, and I really hate to say “no” when it comes to seeing you. So, if you can, give me some advanced notice. Even if it’s a day before, it helps a lot.
Payment: I am flexible. Rates for my work will not appear on any of my ads. Instead, you will find a request to ASK. What that means is that I’m willing to negotiate according to your budget. But for reference, those who value my work are happy to share with me between $250 to $600 for a session in Manhattan, at this current time. Yet again, I’m open to suggestions (-/+) and always grateful for your generosity. It does not only help me remain at your service, it also funds my creative outlets and materializes an extra aid for those close to my heart back home. I prefer cash, but happy to Zelle, Venmo and PayPal; or process credit cards if you must. And, while I do not charge cancellation fees, I do keep a log of activity, so I’ll surely understand if you cancel last minute—once, twice (maybe?)—but know that since I have made arrangements to see you in advance, a last minute cancellation does affect me. In the eventual case I have to cancel our appointment—something I’ve rarely ever done—I will let you know in advance for sure, or if the same day, it would be due to some kind of emergency which I hope does not happen. Please allocate a minimum of 60 minutes to 90 minutes (perhaps 2 hours at most) for a session.

Follow-ups: I’m always thrilled to see you more than once! So, I’ll be happy to offer you a virtual follow-up to our session if there were some thoughts lingering in your mind, or if you needed some perspective on something you’ve been considering after our encounter. This will not be a virtual session but a way in which we can engage in some brainstorming or intellectual discussion, if you will. We can quickly set this up via text message, either to speak over the phone or to arrange it in advance if you prefer to video Zoom instead.
Photos: I must admit I’ve been using the camera to capture the world around me rather than taking selfies, but I also know the exhibitionist in me, perhaps a counterbalance to my relatively “shy” personality. So, besides sharing some new images on Rentmasseur and my still-existing Tumblr page, I will be sending some private visuals to you, dear subscriber of my site. Nothing porny, but perhaps, something that gets me going, in the hopes that it gets you going too.
I guess that’s all for now. If you need me, here I am: Amaru ReOpens. You get my drift.
Love,
A.

Hi Alex, Nice to see you back. I have not been to the city in quite some time.
